Concision Matters, founded by Dr. Trisha Kannan, brings together lovers of language who believe education is the key to fostering curiosity, awareness, and understanding. Dr. Kannan received her PhD in English from the University of Florida in 2011 and served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida, for two years. During her nine-year teaching career, she designed courses in American and British literature and more than 30 sections of introductory and advanced composition.
     
Prior to becoming self-employed as a writer and editor, Dr. Kannan worked at a small K-12 assessment development company in Gainesville for nearly five years. She wrote ELA passages and items for all grades and eventually managed the production of benchmark assessments for school districts in Florida and Georgia. Since 2013, she has developed close to 100 summative assessments, aligned to Common Core as well as state-specific standards.
